The Livermore Heritage Guild manages the ranch property and coordinates with these three nonprofit organizations working on this site:
- Del Arroyo 4-H Horsemanship Club offers riding lessons and instructions in horsemanship to 4-H members. The horses and chickens on the ranch are 4-H animals.
- Sunflower Hill Gardens planted one acre of bountiful, organic vegetables and fruits. SFH teaches organic gardening skills to young adults with special needs. Produce sold on Saturdays 10am-Noon.
- Del Arroyo 4-H Beekeeping Club keeps two bee hives behind the Red Barn and harvest the local honey.
The Ranch is open to the public on the last Sunday of every month (except July and December) from 1-4 pm and for special events.
These Sunday afternoon open houses introduce the public to this very unique piece of Livermore History. Tours include visits to most buildings on site and the opportunity to see vintage vehicles, wagons and buggies.
SAFETY FIRST
This was a working horse ranch. Enter at your own risk. Seek help from any docent wearing a golden oval name badge. We have a first aid kit and emergency drinking water available during our Sunday Open Houses. A wash sink is at the right-hand front corner of the Red Barn.
