Found site as I was looking into the name Trevarno and obviously found Trevarno Road. I work at Trevarno Manor near Helston in Cornwall - a gardnen open to public which makes soap and herbal products and has the national Museum of Gardening. Was home for 4 generations of Bickford-Smiths - William Bickford created the safety fuse and I believe this was an industry with you with the Coast company. Any further info would be great!

These postcards dumbfounded me-I grew up in Livermore and spent my tumultuous teenage years there. I left and settled in San Diego where I pursued amongst other things history. These snapshots opened up a new dimension of my hometown I never imagined, Truly amazing. G

I had a hard time believing the article in SUNSET magazine about the grave of Robert Livermore being discovered at the mission in Mission San Jose. Now thanks to your nice website it all seems more believable! I'm a East Bay Boy fascinated by bay area region history. I grew up in Irvington, Calif.... keep up the nice work-->DOUG.

I enjoyed your site. Brought back many fond memories--about the happiest 2 1/2 years of my childhood. I lived in Livermore from 1956 to 1958--6th through 8th grade at Junction Ave. Elementary School. Lived behind the school on Lee Ave. Delivered the SF Chronicle and Examiner papers to homes surrounding the school. Played Little League and Pony League baseball and ran in a relay race--twin valley relays?? I remember when they opened the A&W Rootbeer stand across the RR tracks--rootbeer in frosted mugs on hot summer days. The flagpole in the middle of the street. My first girlfriend ever lived across the street from the 5th Ave. School--Cindy Marsh was her name. I use to ride my bike south of town past vineyards to a park with a stream. Unfortunately they closed Parks AFB and we move on--way to soon. Yes, only fond memories of a really neat place to grow up.

Livermore temporarily "lost" its time capsule the same way the other 2000 cities in the U.S. lost theirs around that time. New people come to city jobs, a memo is right where it is supposed to be and the new people might not know that. We had great fun with the whole affair - happily found it - and have reburied it with a safer way to find it next time. Roger (message before this one), please stay in Pasadena. Don't want you to have to do yourself in and mess up one of our secluded areas. Livermore is a bit different and I am very thankful for that. It is an interesting place to live where one has a chance to make a difference and usually have a good time while doing it!

well after everything I'v read and heard about your fair city I can summize just this. That if I ever find myself in Livermore California I will go to the nearest Secluded area and quietly kill myself. how could you possably loose a time capsule.

After reading Robert Cutler's book on Red Mountain (about the mines on Mines Rd.) I have an interest in/if there were any schools out Mines. I have a 96 year old friend who said her mother went to Vista School, Mines, Rd. Does anyone have any ideas of how I could find out this information. Sincerely, Dona Fraser Blackmore

Hi Everybody! I was feeling a little homesick for Ravenswood Historic Site and Livermore, having just moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. We lived in Livermore from Sept. 1964 until June 2003. Your website is a great way for me to "visit home." Thanks for continuing to take such good care of Livermore.

It was great looking back at my hometown of Livermore. I grew up there, went to school there, and then on to college. My dad owned Jims' Texaco on First St. for many years. Altough I haven't visited in almost 10 years, I still hold many fond memories of my life there. Thanks for holding the towns treasures safe in your hands. When I bring my children back to visit "mom's stomping grounds" I look forward to visiting all my favorite sites. Thanks again, and keep up the good work.
